The Fuma 3 arrives at Scythe!

New heatsink from Japanese manufacturer Scythe: the Fuma 3. This new heatsink follows on from the Fuma 2. Of course, it retains its double-tower format, but first and foremost features an updated design. It has to be said that the second generation is starting to look a little dated!

Fuma 3: a welcome change of look!

Scythe Fuma 3With this model, the Japanese brand offers us a compact cooler measuring 138 (W) x 128 (D) x 154 (H) mm. It will therefore fit easily into many PC cases. Its weight is also measured at 1.09 kg.

This heatsink features two cooling towers, increasing the heat exchange surface area. To convey heat to the aluminum fins, there are a total of six 6 mm copper heat pipes. These meet at a nickel-plated copper base. This base is off-center to maximize RAM compatibility.

Also with memory compatibility in mind, the first fan has a slim design, measuring just 15 mm thick.

Ventilation is clearly aimed at silence, with the two Kaze Flex II fans supplied running at a maximum of 1,500 rpm. However, the airflow and static pressure generated will vary from fan to fan. Thus, the 25 mm thick version will be more efficient, with 67.62 CFM airflow and 1.5 mmH2O static pressure. The slim model, meanwhile, will generate a pressure of 0.96 mmH2O against an airflow of 39.44 CFM.

For the time being, the heatsink is already available in Asia, while availability in America is scheduled for around July 20. No date has been set for Europe.
