The Cyclone series comes back to life at MSI!

0

One of MSI’s long-standing graphics card series is coming back to life: the Cyclone series. Indeed, the RTX 4060 of the same name appears on the Taiwanese branch of the brand’s website, suggesting in passing that availability will not be global. However, the design is heart-warming, reminding us of the cards from the GTX 400/500 and even 600 series, which will soon cease to exist.

An RTX 4060 Cyclone from MSI Taiwan!

MSI RTX 4060 Cyclone !As a reminder, MSI’s Cyclone series was a range of customized graphics cards… Back when blower models were still commonplace. This range was distinguished by the presence of a circular heatsink cooled by a large axial fan in the center.

With the RTX 4060, MSI is bringing this series back to life, with a card featuring a heatsink in the same style. However, the heatsink has been brought up to date, with yellow/gold tones. These colors can be found on both the front and the backplate.

As you can see, the design is quite open, and the radiator has very little streamlining. As for the radiator, it takes the form of an aluminum wafer with machined fins. Two heat pipes pass through the GPU. They then rise above the base radiator, passing through aluminum fins as they go.

This is a very compact design, occupying just two slots in height and keeping the length of the board to a minimum.

Despite the heatsink’s simplicity, factory overclocking is available. Using the brand’s software, the GPU can reach 2505 MHz. Secondly, the card’s TDP is only 115W.
