AMD’s upcoming A620 chipset is back in the news. After telling you that it would use two different chips, we have some rumors about its characteristics. Indeed, this chip would not use any PCIe 5.0 line!

A620: no PCIe 5.0 line?

Of course, all this is to be taken with a pinch of salt since it is only rumors. Nevertheless, the leaker chi11eddog shares some information about the new AMD chipset .

A620 caractéristiques

For the time being, we learn that it will offer a total of 28 PCIe CPU lines, but only in PCIe 4.0. However, the chipset lines will be eight in number and in the 3.0 standard. In itself, it offers the same number of lines as a B650, however, they run at lower standards as we can see.

Similarly, this model will not allow multi-GPU since there is no support for Crossfire. The same goes for CPU overclocking which is not available. Nevertheless, memory OC will be possible, but it remains to be seen in what form: manual, or via AMD EXPO profiles.

Finally, we note that the A620 cards will be able to use up to six USB 2.0. For more recent standards, two ports in 10 Gbps and two others in 5 Gbps will be available.

However, we should remember that this chipset is intended to reduce the costs of AM5 motherboards, which are particularly expensive. With this type of card, we should finally see AM5 models under the €200 mark!
