Samsung launches its 990 Pro in 4TB!

We told you about it not so long ago, when Samsung was just teasing out its new SSD. But this time, the brand has announced the launch of its 990 Pro in 4TB capacity. A high-performance SSD with huge storage capacity!

990 Pro: a new 4TB version is here!

Samsung 990 Pro 4 ToSamsung has announced an M.2 format model with a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface. It features in-house memory with 176-layer 3D TLC V-NAND. As for the controller, we also find an in-house model, the Pascal with its 32-bit ARM Cortex-R5 architecture. A 4 GB LPDDR4 DRAM cache is also present.

In terms of performance, the company is announcing sequential throughputs of 7.45 GB/s for reading and 6.9 GB/s for writing. Random performance is 1.6M IOPS read and 1.55M IOPS write.

This SSD features AES-256 encryption and is TCG/Opal 2.0 compliant. Endurance is rated at 2400 TBW, enough to last a long time.

For the moment, this version is still not commercially available, so we’re eagerly awaiting prices. We also know that the warranty will be 5 years. Note that this SSD is available with or without a heatsink.
