Ryzen 9000-related leaks from Gigabyte!

A new leak from Gigabyte, as slides confirm quite a few things about AMD’s new generation of processors. First of all, Ryzen 9000s will indeed be Ryzen 9000s. Secondly, we now know that 8000 series motherboards do indeed exist!

Ryzen 9000: full news!

Unfortunately, the quality of these slides is absolutely abysmal, but there are a few things that stand out. The first has to do with motherboards, and in particular the new chipsets, which are confirmed to be 800 series. As a reminder, AMD simply had to pass on the 700 series to align itself with Intel on names. This has now been confirmed.

As for the processors, the CPU names are now clear and four references are now displayed. This 9000 series is expected to land with Ryzen 9 9950X, Ryzen 9 9900X, Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 6 9600. Naturally, they are expected to feature 16 cores, 12 cores, 8 cores and 6 cores respectively.

Another interesting element to consider is memory support. Of course, AM5 platforms will still be DDR5-only, but CPUs will be able to handle higher frequencies. If the Raphael supported 5200 MT/s RAM, the Granite Ridge will take 5600 MT/s. TheInfinity Fabric’s frequency is increased from 2 GHz to 2.4 GHz.

With regard to Gigabyte more specifically, we learn once again that eight motherboards are in the pipeline… There’s that number 8 again. Here are the references:

  • X870E Aorus Pro Ice
  • X870 Aorus Elite WiFi
  • X870i Aorus Pro

  • B850M DS3H
  • B850M Aorus Elite AX
  • B840 D2H

Finally, a last slide indicates the presence of DisplayPort 2.1, presumably UHBR20 according to VideoCardz. On the WiFi side, we’ll be treated to optimized antennas.

In short, the wait shouldn’t be long for AMD to make an announcement at Computex.
