There’s a lot of news coming out of AMD and its new processors. New rumours now indicate that the Ryzen 9 9000X3D will feature two 3D V-Cache dies. One for each CCD. This would mean a massive L3 cache memory capacity on these models!
Ryzen 9 9000X3D: even more L3 cache!
When we look at the Ryzen 9 7900X3D and Ryzen 7 7950X3D, these processors only had a single 3D V-Cache memory die. This was located on one of the two dies.
However, we have learned that this 3D V-Cache die will only have a total capacity of 64 MB, no more. This gives us processors with a total L3 cache capacity of 192 MB: 2 x 64 MB 64 MB basic. Furthermore, the addition of these two dies will ensure more uniform performance across the different cores, particularly in gaming.
However, the question arises as to what constraints will be imposed by two 3D V-Cache dies. Especially with overclocking, as it seems to be emerging. Remember that these are particularly sensitive to overheating, which caused AMD a few problems when it launched its Ryzen 7000X3D.
All this bodes well for the Ryzen 9000X3D series. As we’ve seen recently, the Reds are trying to complete their Ryzen 7 9800X3D as quickly as possible,to make it available by the end of October. As for the 9900X3D and 9950X3D, these should arrive in early 2025. As for the Ryzen 5 9600X3D, no date has been given, we simply know that it should be massively available.
