Ryzen 8000G APUs are due to arrive soon. Compared to the 5000G, these are already shaping up to be infinitely more powerful, as early reports suggest FPS gains of up to 200% in gaming.

Ryzen 8000G, up to 300% gaming performance!

An APU can be extremely useful, depending on how you use it. Indeed, if you’re an occasional gamer or if you play retro or low-performance games, this could be a good solution. On this subject, the first performance reports are coming in, and it’s clear that the current Ryzen 5000Gs are completely out of their depth!

In gaming, where 5700G is used as a base 100, we find 8700G ahead in all scenarios. Nevertheless, what’s of interest here are the gains brought by this new generation. At the very least, it delivers just under 50% more performance on CS:GO in DirectX9. Then it climbs to 300% on Doom Eternal and Cyberpunk 2077.

The same applies to applications, where performance is also boosted. Gains are more tenuous in 2D benchmarks such as Geekbench, 7Zip, Handbrake and others. However, as soon as we move on to 3D, performance explodes, exceeding 250% on FireStrike.

Obviously, these performance gains are due to the use of Zen4 cores. The graphics section also benefits from the latest RDNA architecture. Last but not least, DDR5 memory support gives access to greater bandwidth, something APUs love.
