With its Ryzen 7 9800X3D, AMD offers us the successor to its flagship model: the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. The latter takes the crown as the fastest gaming processor on the market by a comfortable margin. However, despite its high price, this model is out of stock in Germany. MindFactory, famous for its sales of AMD products, reports that it will not be back until December!

Ryzen 7 9800X3D: victim of its own success or limited stocks?

The least we can say is that this processor was eagerly awaited, especially considering the bangers that were its predecessors. This expectation was all the greater following the lacklustre launch of the regular Ryzen 9000s.

If we take the case of MindFactory, the retailer has sold out, with pre-orders only available on its site. What’s more, the maximum quantity of processors per order is limited to one piece… Certainly to avoid speculation and resale around this model.

In any case, it’s important to note that restocking of this model is not expected before December. The question now is whether this disruption is linked to the success of the processor or to low stock levels. However, to put things in perspective, according to our colleague, 3,172 units have been sold. That’s not bad in itself, especially considering its price of €549 from a German retailer.

In France, the situation is similar. While this model is available from a number of retailers, all are showing availability of more than 15 days, or simply no stock.
