On the processor front, we’ve heard some rather worrying news about the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and 5800X3D. Indeed, their prices are rising sharply in Germany, although we don’t really know why.
Ryzen 7 7800X3D and 5800X3D prices on the rise?
As you can see from the price comparison site Geizhals, the Ryzen 7 x800X3D have seen a significant increase in price in recent months. And from what we can see, the comparator reports a price spike from the end of August.
Clearly, the exact cause of this increase does not seem to have been fully identified. However, it seems that some shops are also running out of stock. Inevitably, as soon as there is a break in supply, prices tend to rise… But this does not clearly explain the underlying cause, although there is talk of AMD’s poor anticipation of demand.
This is a situation to keep an eye on, as Amazon no longer seems to have any 7800X3Ds in stock, as you can see here. In addition, the Keepa extension shows that prices have been unstable since the end of September.
However, if you want to set up a Ryzen X3D configuration, the best thing to do is wait for this situation to be resolved. Otherwise, you can opt for other models such as the Ryzen 9 7900/7950X3D or the Ryzen 7 5700X3D on AM4, which offers similar performance to the 5800X3D, but with lower frequencies.
