The RX 9070 XT is back in the news, and on Furmark once again. Unlike last time, the screenshot was taken after a longer period of time. It shows a particularly cool card, with a temperature well below 60°C after 10 minutes of testing!
RX 9070 XT: 55°C after 10 minutes on Furmark!
If you want to put your graphics card’s cooling system to the test, Furmark is the software for you. It will exploit your card’s GPU to 100% by generating a linear load. It’s one of the most violent test programs on the market. And the good news is that AMD’s future card passed the test with flying colors. After 10 minutes, the card stabilized at 55°C maximum.
Of course, this is a customized card, as AMD will not be producing a reference model. The reference in question comes from Gigabyte’s catalog and is a Gaming OC version. This proves that the brand’s design is solid and holds up well.
Otherwise, the software includes a benchmark section which, while not optimal, is still more accurate than Geekbench. As can be seen here, the card posted a score of 20,732 pts. The unit ran here under Linux with the Mesa 25.0 driver incorporating official RDNA 4 support. However, finding an equivalent test conducted on a competing card proves complicated, although we can find the score of an RTX 4080 at 20,702 pts with a GeForce 560.81 driver. But the comparison is clearly a little shaky.
Ditto, for what it’s worth, we also have a Unigine Superposition score in 1080p Extreme of 14,534 pts, again under Linux. Once again, comparison is difficult, although the user behind these scores(gaav87 on the Anandtech forum) compares the card to an RX 6900 XT and its 9,408 pts obtained under Windows.
