Apparently, AMD’s future RX 8000 graphics cards are currently being tested in-house. Indeed, several references of these future cards have been spotted in the Geekbench database. More than just a score, this is an interesting way of finding out how the project is progressing.

Obviously, given the early stage of development of these cards, there’s no point in drawing any conclusions from the OpenCL test score of 33,241 pts. It’s so ridiculous, it’s like a CPU iGPU.

What interests us, however, is the information linked to this score, in particular the card identifier: GFX1201. This corresponds to AMD’s new-generation cards, as previously mentioned.

Another interesting piece of information is the number of Compute Units displayed by the software: 28. If this is confirmed, we should have a card with 56 compute units , as it’s not impossible that the software only detects WGPs or workgroups, which are actually groupings of two CUs. This configuration places the board between the RX 7700 XT and RX 7800 XT.

Finally, the amount of memory is 16 GB, which would give us a 256-bit memory bus. Finally, as a reminder, the cards should make do with GDDR6-type memory, GDDR6X being reserved for NVIDIA, while GDDR7 is expected on the RTX 50 side.

Little by little, the pieces are falling into place for a launch in early 2025.
