The graphics card sector is in a state of panic, with news that NVIDIA is withdrawing its RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 Founders Edition from its stores. The withdrawal took place in the USA, France, Germany and the UK. But there’s nothing to worry about – it’s quite normal.
RTX 5080/5090 Founders Edition withdrawn from NVIDIA stores, it’s normal!
In broad terms, the FE versions of NVIDIA’s two biggest current cards have disappeared from the Chameleon’s US, French, German and British stores. However, before you think about the forthcoming arrival of the RTX 50 Super, which will include the RTX 5070, RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080, you should know that this is not, in principle, the case. In fact, the brand confided in a colleague that FE cards are models produced in small batches and that, when stocks run out, they disappear from the store. They will reappear when there is enough quantity in stock.
Unfortunately for those who have been waiting for the Super to finally benefit from a large quantity of VRAM, the cards still don’t seem to be appearing. What’s more, according to the latest rumors, NVIDIA isn’t planning a launch anytime soon, or even an announcement for CES 2026. It remains to be seen what the Greens have in store for us at this event, since AMD is likely to find itself alone on stage presenting its new UDNA cards.
Remember that previous rumours indicated that NVIDIA was planning to launch its RTX 50 Super as early as October, with production of the 5080 and 5070 Ti stopping at the same time. In the meantime, these cards have been replaced by customized models from the Chameleon’s partners. We can also expect them to reappear when stocks are replenished.
