RTX 5090: a big increase in price compared to 4090?

While the RTX 5090 is expected to be the most powerful future gaming graphics card on the market, its price is a cause for concern. Indeed, the RTX 4090 was already expensive, at $1599. However, the price of the new generation could be revised upwards once again!

RTX 5090: towards $1900 according to Japanese and Chinese journalists!

The price of this future card is truly open to debate. An initial report from Moore’s Law is Dead indicated a similar price at the very least… just before being contradicted by Wccftech, who didn’t believe in such a price increase.

If El Chapuzas Informatico is to be believed, Chinese and Japanese journalists are also said to have heard of a sales price of $1900, in line with MLID’s indications. Even so, the $1900 price tag would only apply to the Founders Edition version of the card. Custom models could be negotiated at much higher prices if we follow this lead. Indeed, we can expect $2000 or even $2400 versions for premium models such as ASUS’ Strix, to name but a few.

Now the question is whether this price is justified. $1599 was already a substantial sum for the 4090, but the pill has finally been swallowed, so why not go even further? To justify this, we’ll be told that performance is improving, etc., but that doesn’t take away from the fact that the price would still be insane. On the other hand, given that AMD has renounced the Enthusiast sector, what’s to stop the chameleon from selling its card at that price?
