NVIDIA is set to launch a number of new graphics cards in the not-too-distant future. As you may have guessed, we’re talking about the future RTX 4080 Super, RTX 4070 Ti Super and RTX 4070 Super. In the meantime, as we reported here, production of the 4080 and 4070 Ti has been halted. Inevitably, stocks will be increasingly limited in the near future!
RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 Ti: stock-outs to come, time to clear up!
Clearly, we’re entering a period of stock clearance before the arrival of NVIDIA’s new cards. Indeed, if Super and non-Super versions were to go on sale at the same time, this would complicate matters. Mechanically, a cannibalization phenomenon would set in, with one version taking precedence over the other in terms of sales. To avoid this, the chameleon recently halted production of its cards.
However, when production is halted, stocks are also replenished. In the case of the 4080, we learn that partners have received a small quantity of cards. As for the 4070 Ti, the situation is more or less the same, with only a small quantity of cards shipped for the fourth quarter. We can therefore expect stocks to run out fairly quickly.
At LDLC, 38% of 4080s are currently out of stock or being restocked. As for the 4070 Ti, the situation is less tense, with 27% of cards in a similar situation.
In short, if you’re planning to buy one of these models, don’t delay. In the meantime, we’re expecting NVIDIA to bring us its RTX 40 Super by early 2024, as CES seems to be the right time for the brand to announce its cards!
