Last month, Intel launched its Xeon Sapphire Rapids at socket LGA-4677. This launch was accompanied by motherboards including the famous Pro WS W790E-Sage SE from Asus. At that time, the amount of the bill was not known, until now. A British retailer lists the card at £1279.99!

As a reminder, this board is the top of the range model from Asus to host Xeon W-3400 and W-2400. This board adopts a very large EEB format, as well as a LGA-4677 socket and an Intel W790 chipset.
On top, we find an important connectivity with eight memory slots for octo-channel RAM. It can take up to 2Tb of DDR5 clocked at 6800 MT/s (OC). The PCIe part offers a total of seven slots with the 5.0 x16 standard. Finally, for storage, we have eight SATA III, three M.2, two of which are PCIe 5.0, and two SlimSAS.
Of course, on top, we find a whole bunch of features related to the server type use. One thinks in particular of the management of the machine via the network.
Anyway, the news here is that you have to pay a pretty penny to get this card. It is displayed at Scan.co.uk at a price of £1279,99 !
