Even if the NDA concerning the performance of Intel’s 14th-generation processors is still valid, we have been authorized to reveal the “press kit” we received for the launch at 3 p.m. on Monday, October 16. No surprise, this 14th generation is a refresh of the 13th, but Intel didn’t just send the processors in a plastic rack – we actually received a press kit.
This is the same color code as the one we received for the launch of the 13th generation Raptor Lakes. Here, the box is smaller, measuring 150 x 305 x 55 mm. It opens from the front via a magnetic flap, and conceals two boxes containing a copy of the Intel Core i9-14900K processor and the Intel Core i5-14600K.
The i7-14700K processor is not included in this press bundle, but we did manage to get our hands on one. Starting tomorrow, we’ll be able to offer you the performance of these three processors compared with the previous generation. We’ve also posted the first tests of our ROG Maximus Z790 APEX Encore with 13th-generation processors.
