Over at Phanteks, we’re seeing the announcement of new cases as the XT Series lineup expands. The brand is introducing the XT V5, V5 LCD, and M5. The differences lie in the front panel—which may or may not feature a mesh design —and the inclusion of an LCD screen integrated directly into the power supply shroud. In all cases, these cases feature a unique chassis design based on a chimney-style layout!
XT Series: Three New Cases from Phanteks!
Three of the Same?
In fact, all three cases share the same dimensions, measuring 235 (W) x 452 (D) x 430 (H) mm. Weight varies by model, ranging from 6.93 kg to 7.31 kg. But the main difference lies in the front panel:mesh for the M5 and tempered glass for the V5 models. Additionally, the M5 offers better fan compatibility with three extra front fan slots.
Internally, the cases support ATX-format motherboards at most. As for the other components, there is 430 mm of clearance for the graphics card. For the CPU cooler, the cases offer 175 mm of vertical clearance, while the power supply is limited to 250 mm… Although this raises some questions given the chassis layout. In fact, this is the type of case where the power supply unit is installed lengthwise at the front, with a power supply cover that is limited in depth.
As for cooling, the cases offer three mounting points for 120 mm fans at the top and bottom. At the rear, you can install a fan, while the M5 offers expanded capacity. For water cooling, a 360 mm radiator can be mounted at the top.
Price:
In terms of retail prices, Phanteks has announced that the XT M5 and XT V5 will be priced identically at $79.99, while the XT V5 LCD model will be more expensive at $109.99. At the same time, this makes sense, as this version features a display built directly into its power supply shroud.
