The PC component market is currently under pressure, with prices for RAM going through the roof. On the graphics card side, the situation is hardly rosy, with rumors of consequent price rises as well. All this suggests that NVIDIA is considering a resurrection of the RTX 3060. The card would position itself aggressively in the graphics card sector!

2026: a comeback for the RTX 3060!

As a reminder, the RTX 3060 was a mid-range graphics card appreciated by gamers. Even today, it is the most widely used card in Steam’s latest hardware surveys. It has to be said that, when it was launched, the card was offered in two versions: 8 and 12 GB of memory, 12 GB of which remains totally relevant today, the proof being that even the current RTX 5070 exploits a similar memory capacity.

Re-launching the card today would enable NVIDIA to offer a reference at affordable prices. Perhaps, in view of current VRAM prices, we shouldn’t expect it to be as aggressively positioned as it was at the end of its career, but it could be an interesting alternative in view of the price rises that are on the horizon. It now remains to be seen which version NVIDIA will offer.

For the time being, all this is only at the rumor stage, but it would seem that the Chameleon has already contacted its partners to find out who would be interested or not. The same goes for the (re)launch date, but the latest rumors suggest that the card will reappear in the first quarter of 2026. There is also the question of geographic availability. Will the launch be limited to China, or Asia more generally, or will the card reappear worldwide? So many unanswered questions at the time of writing.
