RAM frequency world records are like governments, they never stay that way for long 🙃. Indeed, two days ago, we learned that HiCookie was the holder of a new record at 13,034 MT/s. Now, saltycroissant is back in the lead… And not just a little. Yes, the latter smashed the previous record with a memory running at 13,153 MT/s!
13,153 MT/s: the new world record for RAM frequency!
As far as configuration is concerned, there’s no secret here, since we’re using the usual components, with a Gigabyte motherboard, an XOC model, the Z890 Aorus Tachyon Ice, and an Intel processor, in this case a Core Ultra 7 265K. During the exercise, it was downclocked to run at 2034.1 MHz with a x20 multiplier and a base clock of 101.7 MHz.
As for RAM, the main protagonist, here we find a single stick of DDR5 from Corsair. The memory in question spun at 13153 MT/s for this record, while the timings were set at 68-127-127-127 CR2T with a ratio of 3:194. In short, an impressive frequency that earned the overclocker a top spot in the ranking.
Once again, the Z890 Tachyon Ice is used for the RAM OC. It has to be said that this model performs very well in this respect, as the top 4 places in memory frequency have been won with this motherboard. Secondly, this model is particularly well-suited due to its two horizontal memory slots, and the DIMM circuitry has been meticulously designed.
Finally, to keep everything under control, liquid nitrogen was used by saltycroissant. Both CPU and memory were cooled by this liquid to -196°C. In short, a big GG for the overclocker that pushes the limits of memory frequency even further, and not just a little!
