The Japanese Scythe announces the arrival of a new heatsink. Indeed, the Japanese brand announces its Mugen 5 Rev C, a version equipped with a new fan. This one will be faster while being completely black… Aesthetic question surely.

Mugen 5 Rev C : a new version of the Scythe fan !

Scythe Mugen 5 rev CWith this new revision, the brand offers us a radiator that is getting bigger. This new version has dimensions of 136 (W) x 109,5 (D) x 154,5 (H) mm. The revision B measured 130 (W) x 110 (D) x 154.5 (H) mm. On the other hand, this version becomes a little lighter with 900 g on the scale.

As you can see, this model has a careful manufacture with its caps on the top of the heatpipes. Moreover, there are six of them and they meet at the level of a nickel-plated copper base. Moreover, the latter is off-center in order to limit the impact of the heatsink on the RAM.

As for the ventilation, we have the right to a Kaze Flex II mill in 120 mm. The latter will be faster than the previous version. It will work up to 1500 RPM instead of 1200 RPM. The performance is also improving with an air flow of 67.62 CFM and a static pressure of 1?5 mmH2O.

Finally, we find compatibility with the new Intel LGA-1700 socket as well as older platforms. In AMD, no TR4 and derivative, but it remains compatible with AM4, AM3, etc..

As far as price is concerned, this cooler is listed on Amazon.com at a price of $56.99. As for the availability in Europe, we will have to wait until April because of the shipping time.
