The famous MEG 342C QD-OLED screen (which we talked about here and here) of MSI sees a first estimation of its price and clearly, it’s high. Guru3D indicates that it will be necessary to spend a little more than one SMIC to offer this monitor. The estimated prices indicate a bill around 1400 €!
MEG 342C QD-OLED : a 1400 € screen !
With this screen, we find a resolutely high-end reference. This one is equipped with a 34″ OLED panel while being curved at 1800R. Nevertheless, it also offers a UWHQD resolution in 3440×1440 and a strong reactivity. The announced frequency is 175 Hz while the latency is 0.1 ms… On paper.
Who says OLED says also strong contrast since we find a value announced of 1000000:1. Regarding the brightness, the latter is 250 nits in SDR. Finally, in terms of color ranges, MSI announces a coverage of 100% of sRGB, 97.8% of AdobeRGB and 99.3% of DCI-P3. DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400 certification is also on the agenda.
The display also features a KVM switch that allows the keyboard/mouse to swap from one PC to another when two machines are connected to the same monitor. On top of that, we get HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4a as well asUSB-C… not to mention USB-A hub, etc.
The price, we told you: around 1400 €, a price that seems realistic in view of the screens already available in this format. The availability in the shops should take place during this month of April.
