We’ve already told you about the 9070 XT unveiled by ASUS for the grand return of Capcom’s legendary franchise with the game *Onimusha: Way of the Sword*. This graphics card obviously builds on the technical foundation of the TUF Gaming model but features a completely redesigned exterior for the occasion. ASUS is clearly targeting fans of the Capcom franchise.
A Radeon RX 9070 XT in Onimusha colors
For this special edition, ASUS has completely redesigned the shroud and backplate of its Radeon RX 9070 XT. The overall design draws direct inspiration from the dark fantasy world of*Onimusha: Way of the Sword*. Notably, there are several references to the famous Oni Gauntlet, one of the series’ iconic elements. The cooling system also remains very similar to the one we’re already familiar with. The card occupies just over 3 slots and features three ball-bearing Axial-tech fans. The two outer fans rotate in the opposite direction of the central fan to reduce turbulence. They also stop spinning when the GPU temperature drops below 55 °C. ASUS also retains its heatsink featuring MaxContact technology, as well as a phase-change thermal pad between the GPU and the cooling system. Finally, a dual BIOS allows you to switch between Performance and Quiet profiles.
But the partnership extends beyond this graphics card, as ASUS has teamed up with AMD for the occasion. At the same time, AMD is launching a promotion offering *Onimusha: Way of the Sword* for free with the purchase of certain components. The promotion runs from August 25 to September 26, 2026, while supplies last and at participating retailers. It applies to the Radeon RX 9070 XT, RX 9070, and RX 9070 GRE, as well as the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Ryzen 7 9850X3D, Ryzen 9 9900X3D, Ryzen 9 9950X3D, and the recently released Ryzen 9 9950X3D2.
ASUS has also showcased several builds and mods based onthe same theme. Note that some pre-built PCs equipped with these components may also be eligible for the promotion, depending on participating retailers. These include ASUS ROG G700 configurations based on a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and a Radeon RX 9070 XT.
