In the professional world, pro graphics cards don’t just appear out of nowhere. No, they’re often cards that share a GPU similar to the consumer options, but with different driver support… Or extra VRAM, etc., etc. Here, via VideoCardz, we know that AMD is professionalizing its little RX 7600. How do we know? Thanks to an entry in the GeekBench database!
RX 7600: a pro version coming soon?
If the entry in the software database is to be believed, the card is in an advanced state of development. Indeed, Geekbench is able to identify the card perfectly: RADEON Pro W7600. So it’s running pretty smoothly.
As for the GPU, we learn that the card runs at a frequency of 1940 MHz. As for memory, the software reports a total of 8 GB of VRAM. However, we don’t yet know the type of memory. Maybe we’ll get ECC memory, maybe not… In any case, the previous generation in this segment, the Pro W6600, had none.
And on the GPU side, we’ll have a total of 32 compute units, i.e. a total of 2048 stream processors. You’ll be familiar with this configuration, as it’s identical to the RX 7600, the consumer version of the card. Oh, and if you see 16 in the software’s Compute Units entry, that’s normal: it refers to Workgroup Processors, which group CUs two by two.
Now, it’s hard to say when this card will be released, although our colleagues are talking about next month’s SIGGRAPH organized by NVIDIA. This would be a good opportunity for the Reds not to give too much cover to their rival.
