The advantage of Intel’s 13th- and 14th-generation Core i processors is that they remain compatible with DDR4 memory. However, under current market conditions, memory prices are on the rise, particularly forDDR5. In contrast,DDR4 prices have been relatively stable, so there is growing demand for this type of RAM. Obviously, the goal of this move is to put more DDR4-compatible processors on the market. To do this, Intel is expected to increase its production capacity for13th-and 14th-generationCPUs. At least, that’s what a ChannelGate report suggests, based on information shared on WeChat.

Furthermore, China would benefit the most from this surplus production since, as a reminder, the country represents a massive consumer market.

Rising Demand for DDR4 Memory! 

Naturally, with DDR5 memory and prices that have skyrocketed since the end of 2025, not everyone can afford a 32 GB kit for €400. Consequently, consumers are turning to more affordable memory to build their computers. That’s why DDR4 is enjoying a resurgence in popularity. Manufacturers have taken note, and Intel isn’t the only one betting on this technology— motherboard manufacturers are as well.

Toward yet another refresh of Raptor Lake:

Along with this, rumors also point to a new refresh of the Raptor Lake CPUs, dubbed Raptor Lake Next. This series is expected to be part of the Intel Core Series while remaining compatible with the LGA-1700 socket currently in use. For now, leaks suggest the launch of four models with configurations featuring up to 16 cores and a 125W TDP. We’ll have to wait and see what actually happens.
