Intel 101.5333: up to 155% performance gains!

New driver release from Intel, with version 101.5333. Among other things, this new version offers significant performance gains on DirectX 11 games. On certain titles, these can reach 155%!

101.5333: what’s new :

Last Epoch

Let’s start with what’s new in this version. The program includes support for Last Epoch and the DirectX 12 update for Sea of Thieves!

With this, we find performance improvements in a number of DirectX 11 games:

  • Assassin’s Creed Syndicate (DX11):
    • Up to 65% performance in 1080p with medium detail.
  • Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (DX11):
    • Up to 17% performance in 1080p with normal detail.
  • Divinity Original Sin 2 (DX11):
    • Up to 25% performance in 1080p with medium detail.
  • Far Cry 5 (DX11):
    • Up to 8% performance in 1080p with normal detail.
  • Halo: Master Chief Collection (DX11):
    • Up to 19% performance in 1080p with detail by default.
  • It Takes Two (DX11):
    • Up to 24% performance in 1080p with medium detail.
  • Just Cause 3 (DX11):
    • Up to 18% performance in 1080p with medium detail.
  • Just Cause 4 (DX11):
    • Up to 155% performance in 1080p with medium detail.
  • Palworld (DX11):
    • Up to 14% performance in 1080p with medium detail.
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider (DX11):
    • Up to 9% performance in 1080p with medium detail.
  • Rust (DX11):
    • Up to 9% performance in 1080p with medium detail.
  • SCUM (DX11):
    • Up to 6% performance in 1080p with medium detail.
  • Sid Meier’s Civilization VI (DX11):
    • Up to 27% performance in 1080p with medium detail.
  • Snowrunner (DX11):
    • Up to 49% performance in 1080p with medium detail.
  • Warframe (DX11):
    • Up to 7% performance in 1080p with medium detail.
  • XCOM 2 (DX11):
    • Up to 8% performance in 1080p with medium detail.

As you can see, serious gains are present, particularly on Just Cause 4, to which we must add the already impressive previous gains, but with details in very high.

Known problems :

With this version 101.5333, we’re back to the same old problems:

  • Intel Arc Graphics Products:
    • Topaz Video AI may encounter errors when using certain models for video enhancement.
  • Intel Core Ultra with Intel Arc Graphics Products:
    • Field corruptions may be observed on Diablo 4 (DX12).
    • Crashes on Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves (DX12) may occur after loading into gameplay.
    • When launching the SPECAPC benchmark on Autodesk Maya, the software may crash.
    • With certain memory configurations, Blender may crash when rendering certain scenes.
    • Topaz Video AI may encounter errors when using certain templates for video enhancement.
    • Serif Affinity Photo 2 may crash in benchmark mode.
    • Procyon AI may crash when the benchmark is run with Float32 precision.
  • Intel Core Processor (12th-14th Generation) Products :
    • Sporadic crashes can be observed on Dragon Quest X Online (DX9).
  • Intel Arc Control:
    • When using an HDMI connection, the “Display” page may incorrectly show DisplayPort on the “Connector” tab.
    • HDR recording with Arc Control Studio may be corrupted when the mouse cursor is.
