GTA 6’s graphics engine is “ahead of its time”

GTA 6 ( aka Grand Theft Auto VI ) has been the subject of rumors and fantasies for a few years now. However, things have taken a different turn since Rockstar confirmed the existence of the game earlier this year. Since that moment, discussions have started to turn about the use of an improved graphics engine.

GTA 6 We have to admit that Rockstar has a certain legitimacy in this field. When it was released, GTA V offered things that seemed impossible on consoles before it arrived on PCs. Red Dead Redemption 2 impressed with its graphic quality. That’s why the company is looking forward to GTA VI. According to Chris Klippel, the Rage9 graphics engine that will be used in GTA VI, will have more major evolutions. It would even be “ahead of its time”.

This is something that fans of the game will be watching closely, given the relative disappointment with the graphics of GTA: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition. Obviously, we’ll have to wait a while before we can judge these evolutions. Knowing moreover that the console market will probably be considered as a priority for the development. As for the PC version, we will certainly have to wait a bit. Rockstar has indeed the habit of releasing its games on PC about a year after the release on consoles. At this point, it’s possible that the PC audience will still be on the fence when the title hits the market. And that’s where we’ll all make a face: even though Rockstar hasn’t given a release date for GTA 6 yet, sources have previously claimed that the game is targeting 2024-2025. Others are more optimistic, saying 2023, but that doesn’t seem very credible. By then our RTX 8090Ti will be available.
