Gigabyte takes advantage of Computex 2026 to expand its AORUS INFINITY family with two new AMD AM5 motherboards: the X870E AORUS INFINITY NEXT and the X870 AORUS INFINITY. The former is introduced as the new flagship of the series, boasting a very high-end positioning and a somewhat peculiar design that may cause some debate. The brand mentions an advanced thermal architecture, more refined materials and a design geared towards the new generation of AMD platforms.
At this stage, full specifications have yet to be released, leaving some mystery under the hood.

 X870E AORUS INFINITY NEXT

The X870E AORUS INFINITY NEXT therefore seems to play the role of technology demonstrator. Gigabyte has yet to detail the power stage, PCIe ports, M.2 slots or network features. However, the positioning is clear: this motherboard is intended to represent the pinnacle of the INFINITY series on socket AM5. The marketing formula emphasizes speed, intelligence and thermal efficiency, three classic features of today’s high-end systems.
This is clearly a board designed to impress, rather than a simple catalog update.

The other model mentioned, the X870 AORUS INFINITY, is aimed more at memory performance. Gigabyte highlights intelligent tuning for AMD X870 platforms, with a focus on high DDR5 frequencies. One might say that this model seems to correspond to a card already seen the week before, with a differently oriented AM5 socket and just two DDR5 slots. This configuration may suggest an approach geared towards memory overclocking, as reducing the number of slots often facilitates frequency upgrades.
The card therefore seems tailor-made for users who want to push DDR5 and hit records.

Gigabyte also lists other products to come around this announcement. These include the D5 DUO X Series, the X870E AERO X3D DARK WOOD and the STEALTH Series. These references demonstrate the brand’s desire to be increasingly aggressive in the premium motherboard and component segment.
The full online presentation is scheduled for June 3, 2026, and we’ll be at the brand’s stand in a few hours.
