Ryzen 9000 CPUs supported by Gigabyte motherboards via bios upgrade!

Gigabyte X670e Aorus Pro XGigabyte is updating all its AM5 motherboards with bios updates. As you may have read above, the aim is to provide support for the Ryzen 9000s arriving in the next fortnight or so… Well, it’s more a question of providing in-depth support by optimizing their performance. In the meantime, a number of new features have been added:

  • Curve Sharper
  • On-the-fly memory overclocking
  • Optimized memory performance profile

As you can see, these updates apply to the company’s X670, B650 and A620 motherboards. They also contain the AGESA 1.2.0.0a Patch A code.

The procedure is simple: download the bios from the Gigabyte website and paste them onto a Fat32-formatted USB stick. Then, from the bios, search for the Q-Flash utility, select the file on the USB key and off you go. During the operation, be careful not to shut down the running system, otherwise… RIP. After a while, and potentially a few reboots, your system is ready.

Alternatively, you can use the Q-Flash Plus function by plugging the USB key into a specific USB port on the back of your card, then pressing the dedicated button. The update will then install itself.
