[GAMESCOM] Two new OLED displays from MSI

0
At Gamescom 2024, MSI, in addition to announcing the magnificent 4070 Super 20th Anniversary WoW, also unveiled two OLED displays equipped with third-generation Samsung panels: the MPG 491CQPX QD-OLED and the MPG 321CURX QD-OLED. For some time now, MSI has been increasingly involved in the fast-growing OLED display market, and continues to strengthen its position against ASUS and its ROG OLED range.

MPG 491CQPX QD-OLED

The MPG 491CQPX boasts a 49-inch QD-OLED panel. It offers a resolution of 5120 x 1440 (DQHD) and a frequency of 240 Hz, with a response time of 0.03 ms (GtG). VESA DisplayHDR™ True Black 400 and ClearMR 13000 certification guarantees deep blacks and reduces motion blur. The screen features 1800R curvature. MSI also integrates artificial intelligence for optimizations, although details are not specified. Finally, MSI equips this display with KVM support.

To minimize the risk of burn-in, MSI has integrated OLED Care 2.0 technology. This helps extend the screen’s life.

In addition, heat dissipation is optimized. MSI uses graphene film and custom heat sinks to ensure efficient heat management and silent operation.

When it comes to connectivity, the MPG 491CQPX doesn’t disappoint. It includes two HDMI™ 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort™ 1.4 input, and a 98W USB Type-C port. In addition, it offers several USB 2.0 ports and a headphone output.

MPG 321CURX QD-OLED

The MPG 321CURX features a 31.5″ QD-OLED panel. It offers UHD resolution of 3840 x 2160 and a frequency of 240 Hz. Thanks to a panel similar to that of the MPG 491CQPX QD-OLED, this display achieves a response time of 0.03 ms (GtG). It also boasts VESA DisplayHDR™ True Black 400 and ClearMR 13000 certification. What’s more, the MPG 321CURX also incorporates artificial intelligence, as well as KVM support. This model features a softer curvature, with a radius of 1700R.

It also features OLED Care 2.0 technology to prevent burn-in, as well as the same in-house MSI solution for heat dissipation. When it comes to connectivity, the MPG 321CURX is well equipped. Once again, it shares the same datasheet as its big brother, the MPG 491CQPX QD-OLED.
