Galax is not your average Chinese graphics card manufacturer. Indeed, while the company offers classic series, it also stands out for its very large cards designed for extreme performance, with the Hall of Fame series! Clearly, with this range, we’re dealing with ultra-carefully designed models for extreme performance. And the good news is that the brand is back with an RTX 5080 HOF!
RTX 5080 HOF: yes, there will be HOFs in this generation!
Galax continues to offer a card cooled by a massive aircooling system, as you can see. The card features three fans and a footprint probably larger than three slots. Unfortunately, the picture doesn’t really show off the card’s thickness.
In any case, this is an all-white model. As you can see, this applies to the fans, the fairing, the backplate and the printed circuit board. A touch of RGB is also present on the central fan and on the board’s crown.
Of course, we’re dealing with a factory-overclocked card, but it remains to be seen what its final frequencies will be. Another image shows a button on the card’s PCIe bracket. This will be used to switch the fan speed to full. If all goes well the vBios change, offering higher frequencies and/or a more unbridled power consumption limit, will be located on the PCB via a dedicated dipswitch.
For the moment, we don’t know when the card will be released… at least, we don’t yet know if it will be available at the D-Day launch. As for the price, we’re talking about 13,500 yuan. After conversion, that comes to around €1,790, a price similar to ASUS’s Astral version… Which also happens to be a very high-end card!
