G.Skill announces new memory kits as part of a series that emphasizes simplicity. The brand is unveiling its Flare X5XRAM. This series is designed to be compatible with AMD Expo ULL profiles, a new type of profile that optimizes memory sub-timings to further reduce memory latency. The goal? To deliver higher RAM performance with a single click than with traditional Expo profiles.

Only one 32 GB kit available for now!
With this new kit, the brand is currently offering only a single memory kit. It features what we’d call a mainstream capacity, with a total of 32 GB of memory spread across two 16 GB modules. In terms of timings, it features CL-36-36-36-76, while the frequency is 6,000 MT/s. Clearly, this is the sweet spot for AMD processors… non-X3D, to be precise. Unfortunately, the brand does not specify the operating voltages.
A simple kit, noRGB—we were starting to miss that!
In terms of design, the brand highlights a simple aluminum heatsink. Black in color, it lacks any lighting system, unlike the Trident Z5 RGB, for example. “Flare X5X” and “G.Skill” markings are present on the heatsink, and that’s it. Clearly, if you don’t like lights everywhere, you’ll appreciate this understated look. Especially since it keeps theRAM profile low, which is ideal if you have aCPU cooler.
No price yet, but it’s going to be steep!
For now, the brand hasn’t announced any retail prices, but clearly, with all the chaos in the memory market, we’re expecting very high prices. What’s more, the first Expo ULL-compatible kits are already being sold at crazy prices; there’s no doubt these will be no exception to the rule.
