G.Skill has announced new memory kits designed for AMD platforms. The brand, which specializes in RAM, is introducing its Trident Z5 NeoX, a memory module that fully supports AMD EXPO ULL profiles. As a reminder, these are more optimized memory profiles that go beyond just the main frequency and timings. No, here, they take it a step further by optimizing additional timings.

An Evolving Design!
With this new RAM, the brand is offering memory kits featuring heat spreaders with an updated design. While the brand’s signature asymmetrical design remains, the heat spreader now features a solid texture and, most notably, several different finishes. Matte black and white versions will be available, while there will also be a model with a black mirror finish. Of course,RGB lighting is still available on top via a light bar.
Optimized for EXPO ULL!
As a reminder, EXPO ULL is one of AMD’s latest advancements in the field of RAM. This technology further optimizes RAM by offering more finely tuned timings. Thus, rather than focusing on the RAM’s primary latencies, the profiles offer optimizations for secondary timings, which reduces memory latency and boosts performance in applications that take advantage of this—such as video games. However, a compatible motherboard is required, and the AM5 models in the 800 series are compatible. For the 600 series, BIOS updates are being rolled out gradually.
32 GB kits at 6000 MT/s:
As for the available kits, G.Skill is currently sticking to what we’d call“mainstream” configurations. In fact, the kits on offer are dual-channel models, all operating at frequencies of 6000 MT/s—considered the sweet spot for AMD processors… Excluding X3D models. In terms of timings, we’re looking at modules configured at CL30, CL28, and even CL26 for those offering the lowest latency.
However, we’ll have to wait a bit longer to find out the price.
