EVGA Announces Z790 DARK Kingpin and Classified

0

EVGA announced today on the sidelines of the intel conference its Z790 Dark Kingpin and Z790 Classified. Some time ago the brand had announced the end of its collaboration with Nvidia, which let us think that Vince Lucido who was in charge of the overclocking division could no longer work for the brand. But today, with this announcement, we can breathe a little easier. Because yes, we have the right to a new range even more extravagant than the EVGA Z690. evga z790 dark kingpin intro EVGA arrives with a new series of cards dedicated to the LGA1700 socket. And, goes even further by proposing 14 layers on the PCB of the Dark and 12 layers on the Classified. But on top of that, the designs are revisited with a Classified that takes the 90° CPU orientation of the Dark.

The EVGA Z790 DARK KINGPIN

evga z790 dark kingpin This EVGA Z690 Dark Kingpin could be the last of the line if no AM5 card is released. We can ask ourselves this question because EVGA has put a lot of effort into this model. We have a 14 layer PCB, a memory support of more than 7000 Mt/s and a capacity of 64 Gb. But also a dual network configuration 10 Gbps + 2.5 Gbps. On top of that, this Dark has two PCIe 5.0 slots wired in X16 on the CPU, with a limitation to X8/X8 if both slots are populated. This allows a graphics card to be placed in the bottom slot while taking advantage of the PCIe X16 bandwidth. evga z790 dark kingpin m2 Finally, for storage, we have three M.2 slots and 8 SATA ports. This Z790 Dark marks the end of the U.2 port that was always limited to PCIe 3.0 on the Z690 Dark.

The EVGA Z790 CLASSIFIED

evga z790 classified We now move on to the EVGA Z790 Classified. And, for the first time we have the right to a 90° socket orientation as on the Dark. We find ourselves with a motherboard very close to the Dark in terms of aesthetics with a 12 layer PCB. The card supports up to 6800 Mt/s and 128 Gb of DDR5. We have a motherboard designed for overclocking. The network part is reduced to a simple 2.5 Gbps socket. evga z790 classified m2 Finally, concerning the storage we have three M.2 slots and 8 SATA ports. These motherboards are of course compatible with the Eleet X1 software. This software allows you to overclock your machine but also to manage the RGB directly from Windows.

We are waiting impatiently to know the prices for these motherboards but also their availability in Europe. As a reminder, the current Z690 Dark Kingpin was priced at around 1,000 € including VAT. So we can expect even higher prices…
