Obviously, we should expect a new processor launch from AMD during this month of March. Indeed, the Threadripper Pro and Epyc Milan-X processors could arrive on March 8th and March 21st respectively.

Epyc Milan-X & Threadripper Pro: Zen 3 for March!

AMD Epyc Milan & Threadripper Pro 5000Apparently, from what we hear, AMD could well launch its Threadripper Pro series processors on March 8. However, at first, this launch will not concern the DIY market, on the contrary. AMD seems to want to focus on the professional market: OEM and system integrator in mind.

Concerning these Threadripper Pro 5000, we should expect CPUs whose architecture is based on Zen3. At most, we will be dealing with models with 64 cores and 128 threads. As for memory, these chips will have 8 DDR4 memory channels and a total of 128 PCIe 4.0 lines. However, as far as AMD’s 3D-VCache is concerned, we don’t know if these models will use it.

As for the Epyc Milan, the launch is scheduled for March 21. This time, these processors will have 3D-VCache up to 100 MB per CCD and 800 MB in total for models with 64 cores, according to Guru3D. Once again, these models have 128 PCIe lines and 8 memory channels in DDR4-3200.

Of course, this is all just a rumor for now. We will be able to see next week what it is.
