While the game is due to be released in less than ten days, the publisher of Dead Island 2 has published the PC requirements to play it. As usual, we take a look at all of these, but obviously, don’t expect to play the game properly on a small machine.
Dead Island 2: big PC requirements!
On the menu, you’ll need a PC with a minimum of RAM , since the editor recommends 16 GB of memory for the recommended configuration. The same goes for storage, with 70 GB available. Of course, it goes without saying that the use of an SSD will bring additional comfort.
Without further ado, we take a look at what is needed at the very least to play and oh!!! We find a CPU that we haven’t seen in ages: an AMD FX 9590. Otherwise, a Core i7 7700 HQ, a laptop processor, will be required in addition to 10GB of RAM. Concerning the graphics part, RX 480 and GTX 1060 will be necessary, without knowing the memory capacity. Remember that the 1060 came in 3 GB and 6 GB against 4 GB and 8 GB for its rival AMD.
To play in 1080p at 60 frames/sec, we go up a staircase since the CPU part requires a current processor. We are talking about a Ryzen 5 5600X (6 cores) or a Core i9 9900K (8 cores). As for the graphics card, we’re talking about an RX 6600 XT or an RTX 2070 Super, a card from 4 years ago.
In 1440p @60 FPS, we go up another notch with Ryzen 7 7700X or Core i5 12600KF required. In graphics, an RX 6750 XT is required against an RTX 3070 from NVIDIA. This is starting to cause a lot of trouble, let’s be clear.
Finally, in ultra, we completely let go with Core i7 13700K or Ryzen 9 7900X required for the CPU part. As for the graphics card, an RX 6950 XT or an RTX 3090 are required… Well, we play in UHD too.
Clearly, we are heading towards a game that promises to be greedy, especially since the title is rather ” AMD friendly “. At launch, no DLSS or other NVIDIA technology. Here, we’ll have to make do with FSR 2 and Contrast Adaptive Sharpening. That said, we’re curious to see how much VRAM the game will use!
