Thermaltake is offering us a new case to complement its CTE series. As a reminder, this is a series of chimney-type cases that can house a large number of fans. With the CTE E550 TG, the brand is offering a model with an aquarium design for a clear view of the internal components.
CTE E550 TG: a chimney and aquarium case!
With this case, the brand offers us a rather imposing reference with dimensions of 270 (W) x 513 (D) x 558.5 (H) mm. However, although it’s more compact than the CTE T500, it’s still very heavy, weighing in at 14.5 kg.
Internally, the case is spacious enough to accommodate 10.5″ wide E-ATX motherboards. For graphics cards, there’s plenty of clearance, with a length of up to 415 mm with heatsink, and 443.8 mm without. As far as the CPU cooler is concerned, there’s no need to worry, with a free space of 166 mm in height and 220 mm in depth for the power supply.
While the CTE range is designed to offer a maximum number of fan slots, this model is much more tamed. This version has eight slots at 120 mm and six at 140 mm. As a reminder, the CTE T500 offered eleven slots. As for watercooling, this is a reference that can accommodate 420 mm radiators on the side of the motherboard or at the bottom!
