Cinder City is a game that has the potential to make headlines in the near future—but not for the right reasons. In fact, the game’s minimum and recommended system requirements were recently published on Steam. To put it mildly, these specs are, to say the least… baffling, since the game requires no less than 64 GB of RAM to run.
Cinder City: Recommended specs that make no sense…
64 GB of RAM recommended and a Ryzen 7 7800X3D?
Broadly speaking,Cinder City is billed as a third-person shooter RPG set in a Seoul ravaged by mutants. Naturally, the player takes control of a Cinder Knight—humanity’s last hope—whose role is to fight these mutants.
In any case, while the minimum system requirements are fairly reasonable—albeit very RAM-intensive—the recommended specs are downright insane. In fact, the listed RAM requirement alone is enough to make your head spin: 64 GB. Yes, yes, you read that right—these days, the developers are recommending a RAM kit that costs at least 700 bucks. But that’s not all, since the CPU requirements are just as extreme, featuring a Ryzen 7 7800X3D. It’s worth noting that this is one of the best gaming processors currently available on the market.
In contrast, the recommended graphics card is quite standard: an RTX 4060. As for the announced storage space, 50 GB is listed, which is perfectly acceptable.
On the minimum specs side, we find a Core i5 10400 or an AMD Ryzen 5 3600—CPUs that don’t surprise us. The RAM requirement is still excessive at 32 GB (at least €400), while the GPU is a very modest RTX 2060 with 6 GB of VRAM.
In short, even though we know that the recommended specs listed on Steam aren’t always very reliable, this one is still pretty outrageous.
