Asus returns with RTX 5080 Noctua Edition

Asus and Noctua are back at it for the third time, continuing their previous collaboration, this time based on an RTX 5080 using Noctua fans. In the Noctua catalogue, this RTX will use new-generation 120 mm fans, the NF-A12x25 G2, which have not yet been officially launched by Noctua. Due to the presence of three fans, the length of the card is considerable, at over 360 mm. Note that the size of the PCB is only about half the size of the whole card. In terms of thickness, it’s also copious, as this RTX 5080 occupies more than four slots. The card looks slightly bigger and heavier than the air-cooled ROG Astral.

The heat sink incorporates many of the design innovations developed by Noctua for its air-cooled CPU coolers. It also features an optimised vapour chamber, attached to a large array of aluminium fins. It also uses phase-change thermal pads for improved heat dissipation from the GPU. As far as the design is concerned, it’s hard to go for something sober if you decide to use the Noctua colour… The RTX 5080 Noctua Edition therefore oscillates between grey and brown, in harmony with the Noctua theme. The back of the card features a full-length back plate and a cut-out for the third fan.

While the card should have an effective ventilation system, it will obviously pose a sizeable problem. Nor can we forget the headache of harmonising the rest of your configuration with the colours of this card.

For the moment Asus hasn’t given us any specific details about the configuration of this card (in particular the frequencies). Nor has it given us a date of availability or a price.
