Via UNIKO’s Hardware X account, we learn that ASUS, via its China Managing Director Tony Yo, has plenty of new products in the pipeline for CES 2025. However, the company says that there will be plenty of new products from AMD, including BTF motherboards. The latter are hopelessly absent from the AM5 socket, an oversight that will soon be rectified?
BTF motherboards in AM5 for ASUS at CES 2025?

As a reminder, with its BTF range, ASUS wants to “revolutionise” the way PCs are assembled. To achieve this, the company is offering backpanel motherboards with connectors mounted on the rear of the board’s PCB. In this way, when the PC is assembled, there are no visible cables in the installation. The result is a very clean and neat look. For our part, we discovered this system with the TUF range.
At present, the series features mainly Intel components, while AMD cards are absent. However, things are set to change as Tony Yo seems to be indicating that AM5 cards with inverted connectors are planned, although it remains to be seen which range these will be. But B850s and even X870(E) TUFs are not out of the question.
Otherwise, he also emphasised that “more powerful processors” will be at CES. Here, we’re expecting the launch of the Ryzen 9 9900X3D and Ryzen 9 9950X3D, 12 and 16-core models respectively. The latter will benefit from improved cache memory via the addition of 3D V-Cache. We’re expecting greater multithreaded performance in particular.
It also remains to be seen what the brand has in store for us in the way of graphics cards. Both AMD and NVIDIA are expected to announce their next-generation graphics cards, and ASUS works with both brands, so we should also see some news on that front. However, NVIDIA is likely to attract more attention in this sector, as ASUS does not offer the RX 7900 XTX Strix, for example, whereas NVIDIA does.
