The Raptor Lakes should be here soon and most motherboard manufacturers are waiting around the corner to release the new Z790s. But for the Intel family, the problem is the same as the one we have seen for AMD: a significant price inflation on the new references. Several leaks from CaseKing in Germany and Top Achat in France give us a relatively accurate idea of the prices that should be applied to these cards at launch.
Z790 prices: no miracle to be expected.
We have a certain visibility of the Asus range at Caseking, one of the biggest distributors of PC components in Germany. To buy a Z790 with the Asus logo, it will cost between EUR 309.90 and EUR 1,399.90.
The ROG Maximus Z790 Extreme being the most expensive… and its price is similar to that of the AM5.
In France, we seem to be a little more aggressive on Asus products than our German neighbors (a first…) but we also discover the positioning of some references from MSI.
Let’s keep in mind that these prices could still change between now and the official launch of the Raptor Lake range on October 20th. While the trend will, in our view, be maintained on the basis revealed here, some prices will adjust with the competition from dealers.
