Via Guru3D, we have learned that ASRock has announced two new graphics cards. The company is unveiling its RX 7900 passive cards, which, despite their TDP of just under 300W, benefit from a fanless dual-slot cooling system!
RX 7900 passives: two new cards for ASRock!
The brand’s cards feature a so-called ‘passive’ heatsink. This means that it has no fan, ensuring noise-free cooling.
However, unlike other cards of the same type, these are available in a strict dual slot format. The cooling system consists of a large vapour chamber topped with aluminium fins. Clearly, this reminds us of an RX 7900 Creator with the fairing removed.
However, make no mistake about these cards, their purpose is not to fit into a home PC. In fact, the format is very reminiscent of what you find in the professional sector. We imagine here that the final objective is to mount these cards in a rack server equipped with powerful ventilation to ensure correct cooling of the card.
Behind all this, don’t expect factory overclocked models with boost frequencies of 2500 MHz for the 7900 XTX against 2395 MHz for the RX 7900 XT. Finally, for the power supply, we have a 12VPHWR connector.
