Gigabyte has announced two new motherboards: the B650 Aorus Elite AX Ice and the B650M Aorus Elite AX Ice. We have the ATX model and its more compact counterpart in micro-ATX format.

The B650 Aorus Elite AX Ice: the ATX version!

Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX IceThis model features a completely white motherboard, or at least its PCB and heatsinks. The rest of the connectors are black to contrast with the board.

The AM5 platform features four DDR5 memory slots capable of handling RAM at 8000 MT/s. The rest of the connectivity is based on a PCIe x16 4.0 complemented by two PCIe x16 3.0 operating in x1. Otherwise, the storage section focuses on an M.2 in PCIe 5.0 x4 complemented by two other M.2 in PCIe 4.0 x4 and four SATA III.

At the rear, the board features a Q-FLash Plus enclosure, as well as HDMI and DisplayPort video outputs.USB-A will be present in numbers, with eleven ports of various standards, plus a USB-C 3.2 Gen2. Audio is provided by an unnamed Realtek chip. As for networking, Ethernet is driven by Realtek 2.5 GbE, while an RTL8852CE Wi-Fi module is present.

The B650M Aorus Elite AX Ice: the same, but in µATX!

Gigabyte B650M Aorus Elite AX IceThis second model features a more compact micro-ATX format. However, its design remains the same as that of its ATX counterpart.

The memory section remains in DDR5 and supports the same speeds as the other board. However, there are a few slight variations in terms of connectivity. While PCIe 5.0 is only available for the SSD part, there are only two PCIe slots. The first is x16 4.0, the second x4 4.0.

The storage section has changed somewhat, this time featuring two M.2s, one of which is PCIe 5.0 x4, while four SATAs are still present.

Finally, rear connectivity appears to be identical in terms of number and standard of connectors. Likewise, there appear to be no changes to the chipsets responsible for driving audio, Ethernet and Wi-Fi. Last but not least, the same 12 2 2-phase power supplies for the processor!
