After NVIDIA’s RTX 50s, let’s talk about what’s to come from AMD. Apparently, the company is working on a new card, but one we’ve been waiting for. We’re hearing rumours of an RX 7650 GRE, a card that looks like a Chinese exclusive.

RX 7650 GRE: AMD’s next card?

RX 7650 GRE

Broadly speaking, GRE(Golden Rabbit Edition) cards are exclusive to the Chinese market. Well, not all the time. The RX 7900 GRE is a bit of an exception, being the only model we know of, that has been launched internationally.

In short, we don’t know much about this card other than that it could close the performance gap between the RX 7600 XT and RX 7700 XT. In terms of memory, we could be looking at a card with 10 or 12 GB of VRAM, while the GPU configuration could be in the region of 40 compute units for 2560 stream processors.

If @AnhPhuH ‘s post on X is to be believed, this model could well be unveiled at CES in early 2025. Let’s just hope that the Reds have some RX 8000 in the pipeline, otherwise it’s going to be a sad day.
