AMD has released a new version of its driver, this time for the RADEON RX 7900 Series. With its AMD Software Adrenalin 22.12.2, the brand corrects some problems encountered here and there. In short, let’s see what we have.
AMD Software Adrenalin 22.12.2: AMD tackles its RX 7900!
In reality, this new version of the AMD driver only brings fixes, no optimization or performance improvement in game. On the other hand, we find this:
- Fixed visual corruptions encountered when using Virtual Super Resolution in multiscreen.
- No more system crashes that could be observed when changing the display mode with a display configuration.
- There will be no more crashes or graphics driver timeouts on Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales when loading following the activation of RayTracing.
- Improved video playback consumption with hardware acceleration. More improvements to come.
However, there is still work to be done. AMD is aware of the following problems:
- High idle power consumption on some high resolutions or high refresh rates.
- Intermittent application or driver timeout crashes with RADEON Super Resolution with some extended display configurations.
- Stuttering was observed when playing video content with some extended display configurations.
- Stuttering has been observed on the opening scene of Uncharted 4.
- Crashes on Valheim can be observed using the Vulkan API. If this happens to you, prefer DirectX until a fix is deployed.
- Lower than expected performance can be observed on some VR games.
