AMD launches 7 new processors today including the Ryzen 7 5800X3D

Today AMD officially launches its new processors, including the expected Ryzen 7 5800X3D using the 3D V-cache technique.

Unveiled at CES 2022, the new Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor using 3D V-Cache technology is officially launched and will be available for purchase on April 20 with an MSRP of $449.

The 5800X3D with 96MB of L3 cache delivers about 15% better performance on average than the 5900X and claims to be the fastest gaming processor on the market, outperforming the i9-12900K according to AMD tests (Watch Dogs Legion, Far Cry 6, Gears 5, Final Fantasy XIV, Shadow of the Tomb Raider and CS: GO in 1080p).

AMD Zen 3 2022

At the same time, 6 other new CPUs are announced today, allowing to lower the entry price of each range to face the competition. First of all 3 processors based on Zen 3 :

  • The Ryzen 7 5700X with 8 cores and 16 threads, 36 MB of cache and a TDP of 65W for 299$
  • The Ryzen 5 5600 with 6 cores and 12 threads with 35 MB of cache and a TDP of 65W for 199$
  • The Ryzen 5 5500 also with 6 cores and 12 threads and a TDP of 65W, but with a cache reduced to 19 MB for $159

AMD Zen 2 2022 Then we have 3 processors based on the Zen 2 generation with :

  • The Ryzen 5 4600G, with a Vega iGPU and equipped with 6 cores 12 threads, with 11 MB of cache and a TDP of 65W for 154$
  • The Ryzen 5 4500 with 6 cores 12 threads, 11 MB cache and a TDP of 65W but without iGPU for 129$
  • And finally the Ryzen 3 4100, 4 cores 8 threads with 6 MB cache and a TDP of 65W for $ 99

AMD chipset compatibilité

AMD takes this opportunity to announce the extension of the compatibility of Ryzen 5000 processors for motherboards with A320/B350/X370 chipsets, with the arrival of new BIOS scheduled for April.
