AMD EXPO: overclocking technology for DDR5

0

During the announcement of the new Ryzen 7000, AMD took the opportunity to confirm the availability of EXPO(Extended Profiles for Overclocking) technology. This is an alternative to the Intel XMP 3.0. As a reminder, the XMP 3. 0 allows you via the BIOS to automatically activate the characteristics of your memory kit: the frequency, timings and voltage. The AMD EXPO technology will also allow you to overclock DDR5 in one click in combination with the Ryzen 7000. Technologie AMD EXPO Gamers using this technology could see performance improvements of up to 11% at 1080p and latency down to about 63 nanoseconds. The technology will be licensed royalty-free so that every brand offering DDR5 can use it today. AMD has announced no less than 15 DDR5 kits from its partners with speeds up to 6400 MT/s. These brands include memory kits from ADATA, Corsair, Geil, G.Skill and Kingston. This morning, we will also review the announcements from Corsair and GSKill regarding DDR5 memory kits for the new AMD motherboards.

Technologie AMD EXPO On our side, we can’t wait to know the overclocking potential of DDR5 on this new chipset but also the performance against an Intel platform.
