While we’re still waiting for Zen 5 and Zen 5C, AMD confirms it’s working on Zen 6… On the other hand, with the Ryzen 9000 launch just two weeks away, the bulk of the work is already done, allowing the company’s teams to concentrate on what’s next!
Zen 6: AMD is already working on it!
Naturally, this new generation will be found in all the Reds’ processor families. Thus, this architecture should be found in Epyc CPUs codenamed Venice, the new models taking place on socket SP7. What’s more, they should benefit from a total of 16 memory channels.
Otherwise, still linked to AMD’s professional branch, we’ll find this architecture in the IA Medusa APUs . These should be accompanied by a new graphics architecture. It remains to be seen which.
Of course, Ryzen processors will also be concerned. It remains to be seen what the Reds have in store for us. Indeed, in a previous article, we learned that the reds could offer CCDs bursting at the seams in terms of their number of cores. In fact, they could feature 8, 16 and 32-core configurations. It remains to be seen what AMD will come up with for the general public. It’s not impossible that the company will be content to stay at 16 cores, since anything more would certainly be profitable for application-type uses, but much less so for gaming.
