AMD: a very aggressive roadmap for 2022

At the Credit Suisse 25th Technology Conference , AMD CEO Lisa Su spoke about AMD’s current and future situation.

2022 will be a great year for AMD!

AMD is currently in a good position, having for the last five years proposed a very aggressive roadmap in front of the competition, and foresees an even brighter future, with in particular the forthcoming acquisition of Xilinx before the end of 2021, which would allow AMD to overtake Intel in market capitalization for the first time!

2022 will be a difficult year in terms of demand, which will explode and will require the appropriate production capacities. The company has already anticipated this by increasing its orders with their main partner TSMC, to meet a market estimated by the company around 350 million PCs.

Despite this, Lisa Su is confident for the coming year, with a roadmap described as extremely competitive both in terms of processors and graphics cards, with several new products that are expected at CES 2022 next January. With Zen 3+, Zen 4/4c, RDNA3 and CDNA3, the year 2022 for AMD looks very interesting and competitive. We could even imagine AMD, why not, leading against Intel and Nvidia.

At the same time, Pat Gelsinger also announced some good news during this conference with some engravings that should be released earlier than expected. Of course, we must remain cautious, because all the years of bad management and execution cannot be compensated in nine months.
