A recognized specialist in custom liquid cooling, Alphacool continues to expand its product lineup with a new generation of thermal paste. Drawing on more than 20 years of experience in PC cooling, the company is today unveilingthe Apex 2. This new thermal paste features a completely redesigned formula, developed in collaboration with Halnziye. The goal is clear: to improve heat transfer on modern components, particularly processors and graphics cards under heavy loads.
A Formula Designed for the Latest CPUs and GPUs
According to Alphacool, the Apex 2 offers superior cooling performance compared to the previous generation. In particular, the thermal paste has been optimized for the latest-generation processors and GPUs. It is expected to be particularly effective when heat is concentrated in a small area, as is often the case at the hotspots of graphics cards.
This feature allows it to target several types of systems. Alphacool naturally highlights gaming setups and systems dedicated to overclocking, but also workstations and servers. More generally, the Apex 2 is aimed at environments where components regularly operate under significant thermal load.
The safety data sheet provides some additional details. The Apex 2 comes in the form of a gray, odorless paste with a density of 2.7 g/cm³ and a flash point of 150 °C. Its composition includes, among other things, 20 to less than 25% zinc oxide and 15 to less than 20% polydimethylsiloxane.
Easy application and no electrical conductivity
Alphacool also notes that its new thermal paste is electrically non-conductive. This feature minimizes risks when applying it around sensitive components. Its consistency has also been optimized to facilitate spreading and ensure a uniform layer across the entire contact surface.
Like any chemical product, however, it must be handled with care. The safety data sheet specifically notes a riskof severe eye irritation and states that the product is toxic to aquatic organisms, with long-lasting effects.
Alphacool Apex 2 is now available for pre-order on the manufacturer’s online store. It is also expected to arrive soon at DocMicro, Cybertek, and HighFlow. The 2-gram syringe of Apex 2 is priced at €9.98 (including tax). With this new formula, Alphacool aims above all to offer a thermal paste better suited to the ever-increasing thermal densities of today’s CPUs and GPUs.
