AFOX reveals its first RTX 40, an RTX 4090 Blower!

Taiwanese manufacturer AFOX announces its very first RTX 40. What better way to launch the series than with NVIDIA’s RTX 4090. An RTX 4090, of course, but an RTX 4090 Blower. Not a card likely to be very popular with home users… For workstations, however, it’s a different story!

AFOX offers an RTX 4090 Blower!

AFOX RTX 4090 BlowerIf you’re looking for a compact RTX 4090, this is probably the model for you. As you can see, the card comes in a strict dual-slot format and measures just 266 mm in length, according to the brand’s datasheet.

The cooling system is of the blower type, with a radial fan mounted at the rear of the fairing; in concrete terms, the aim of this type of heatsink is to circulate air through a network of aluminum fins, expelling hot air through its PCIe bracket.

In fact, this is not the first board to come out with this design. At least two other boards share this design (here). As you’ll have gathered from the graphics chip used, the efficiency of this type of heatsink is quite relative. Readings have been taken on a similar board, and clearly, it’s hot and noisy.

Nevertheless, this is a model that’s sure to find its audience, particularly in workstations and servers. Indeed, its compact size means it can be integrated into a large number of installations. What’s more, as we’ve seen here, the RTX 4090 is more efficient than the much more expensive RTX 6000 Ada for certain pro tasks…

Unfortunately, the retail price is unknown, as is availability… Although we suspect that this card isn’t for us… Well, not for France.
